What is gfa?

The Georgia Floral Association is a network of floral professionals throughout the state who strive to be the best in the floral industry. Our goal is to inform, promote and educate our members so they may better their business and provide their customers with the highest quality product, design and service.

By belonging to GFA, individuals have the opportunity to increase their skills, share their knowledge and benefit from the expertise of others. In an industry that moves and changes so rapidly, the survival and success of the florists of Georgia depends on our efforts to keep current on trends, materials and information.

Membership is open to anyone in the industry who shares our standards, ideals and goals. We invite participation and input from all our members and promote programs and workshops that will benefit professionals throughout the state and surrounding areas.

We welcome you!

Why gfa and how it will benefit you

GFA provides continuing education through design programs, Convention and other opportunities. We offer scholarships to help members achieve professional goals. We enjoy fellowship, mentoring and networking with other industry professionals to help navigate today's changing floral landscape. GFA also promotes and assists members online via Facebook and other platforms.

scholarships

GSFA offers a variety of scholarships to help educate our members. Help is available to enable them to take a floral class, study with a designer, or test for AIFD. Scholarship competition is open to all GFA Members. Applications are submitted in the months before Convention and are awarded by the Scholarship Committee during our annual convention.

design shows

Design shows and programs are presented throughout the state.  Local or nationally known designers present programs and classes throughout the year and across the state.

competitions

The goal is to encourage experience, education and motivation. Entering a competition is invaluable for the education experience. The Designer of the Year competition is one of the highlights of the year. Held annually at convention, competitors measure themselves against design challenges and the clock.

GFA also holds a interpretive design competition called The Peach Cup. Entrants interpret a piece of art or a prompt given prior to the competition by bringing prior-made props or structures and designing floral on-site in a set time frame.
